In the age of social media, people can now speak their minds to an audience 24/7.  While this new unlimited access to people may seem like one of the perks of technology, it’s actually proven to be a slippery slope for some celebrities.  With some stars having follower counts way into the millions, everything they post is instantly seen by people all over the world.  Unfortunately, some of the things celebrities post have left them embarrassed and had their PR people struggling to clean up the mess.  Although posts can be deleted, everyone knows that once something has been put on the Internet it never really goes away.  Here are 10 celebrities who made Tweets they quickly regretted.

Drake Bell

In the wake of Caitlyn Jenner’s transition, she received an outpouring support from people all over the world.  Many people, including celebrities, admired her courage to transition from the life she’s always known to the life she’s always wanted.  However, actor, Drake Bell, seemed less than impressed and published a tweet letting all of his followers know that in his world, Caitlyn Jenner was still Bruce. Bell quickly deleted the Tweet, but not before the backlash could begin.

Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige has been in the game for more than two decades, and there’s no denying that she’s one of the most talented R&B artists of her generation. However, in her efforts to keep up with technology, she might want to remember that proof reading is always important. Although most phones and computers have an auto correct feature, it still doesn’t hurt to do a quick once over.  Especially if you don’t want people insulting your intelligence.

Amanda Bynes

Over the last few years, Amanda Bynes has proven that she has absolutely no filter, but she might want to think about getting one.  Everyone knows that domestic violence is nothing to joke about, and it’s never fun or funny to shame victims of abuse whether in public or private.  Apparently, Bynes missed that very important memo back in 2013 when she tweeted Rihanna about her altercation with Chris Brown. If everyone didn’t think Amanda Bynes was crazy before that, that tweet would have definitely sealed the deal.

Charlie Sheen

There are probably quite a few tweets that Charlie Sheen regrets. After all, he did have a huge public meltdown that resulted in some pretty strange statements.  However, nothing could have been worse than the time he accidentally tweeted his personal phone number while trying to send s DM (direct message) to Justin Bieber.  Sheen quickly deleted the Tweet, but it was too late.  Once it was out on the open people were calling him non-stop and he was forced to change his number.

Cee-Lo

CeeLo Green Court Appearance

Cee-Lo has always had no problem being himself and expressing his opinion, but he’s definitely ruffled a few feathers along the way. Last year, in the wake of a court case in which he was accused of using Ecstasy to sexually assault a woman, Cee-Lo tweeted some very offensive things about sexual assault and rape. To sum it up, Cee-Lo basically insinuated that if a woman doesn’t remember being assaulted – it didn’t happen, and if a person is unconscious they automatically consent. Umm what Cee-Lo?  Not only did he end up regretting his tweets, but he actually deleted his Twitter account after all of the negative backlash he received.

Trevor Noah

Thanks to Twitter, Trevor Noah learned the hard way that sometimes the Internet makes for a pretty tough crowd.  After news that Dr. Dre sold his Beats By Dre brand to Apple for a reported billion dollars, Noah tweeted, “Behind every successful Rap Billionaire is a double as rich Jewish man. #BeatsByDreidel.”  Twitter users quickly jumped on Noah and accused the tweet of being anti-Semitic. These accusations were also made back in 2010 after Noah tweeted, “South Africans know how to recycle like israel knows how to be peaceful.”  Hopefully, he’s learned his lesson!

Michael Moore

"Capitalism: A Love Story" Press Conference

Director, Michael Moore, isn’t the type of person to bite his tongue, so there’s a chance that he doesn’t regret the comments that he made about the film, American Sniper. However, the average person who finds themselves engulfed in a heated Twitter debate is likely to regret anything that got them there. When Moore expressed his unpopular opinion on snipers, calling them “cowards,” people erupted and took great offense.

Donald Trump

Iowa Freedom Summit Features GOP Presidential Hopefuls

It really should come as no surprise that Donald Trump is on this list seeing as how he might actually be the king of saying things that he shouldn’t. However, in light of all the crazy things he’s been saying recently, he definitely out did himself when he posted a tweet that looked to be some sort of campaign ad. In the image of Trump’s face plastered behind the American flag, soldiers can be seen in the bottom right corner. It all seemed pretty patriotic until someone realized that the soldiers in the image were actually Nazi soldiers.  Needless to say, Twitter went crazy and the Donald has just dug himself a new grave.

Maria Fowler

You may have never heard of British model, Maria Fowler, and after hearing about this tweet, you’ll probably wish that you never hear of her again. During the 2012 Olympic games opening ceremony, Fowler tweeted , “Ahhh wish I was there so bad. Muhammad Ali. No disrespect though but why can’t he stand now?'” Okay, so Fowler is too young to have ever seen Ali box, and she isn’t American – but umm, even without knowing much about him, common sense should have told her that he wasn’t sitting out of choice.

50 Cent

50 Cent has never been accused of being the nicest guy in the world, and it’s clear why. Fif found himself in some serious trouble after he made some offensive tweets about the autistic community. Although he apologized for his comments, the damage had already been done, and he definitely didn’t win over any new fans with those remarks.
