Boaza Mokohar, 35, charged after making bomb threat against XtaC Hair Design salon over $15 haircut
A NOMADS bikie associate threatened to petrol-bomb a hair salon over a bad $15 haircut, a court has heard.
Boaza Mokohar, 35, allegedly confronted staff at XtaC Hair Design salon on the Gold Coast on Monday because his 14-year-old son did not receive the designer haircut he wanted, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports.
Police alleged the teenager wanted a mohawk and short sides but was upset with a shorter cut he was given.
It is alleged Mokohar, who sports a skullet (shaved head with back mullet) demanded the manager refund the $15 haircut fee.
When staff refused, he allegedly threatened to kill them and "petrol-bomb the place".
Mokohar was arrested on Wednesday when he visited the Southport police station as part of his bail conditions for an unrelated assault and grievous bodily harm charge at Beenleigh.
Yesterday, he faced the Southport Magistrates Court on a single charge of threatening violence verbally.
The charge is indictable and carries a maximum penalty of two years in jail.
Legal Aid duty lawyer Vered Turner said the alleged incident had been exaggerated. "He vigorously denies making any threats - it's a situation that has been blown out of proportion," she said.
Ms Turner said Mokohar's son was upset by the haircut and felt he would be embarrassed at school.
She said her client approached the manager but an argument ensued when she refused to acknowledge his dissatisfaction.
"They refused a refund and did not even offer to fix the hair," she said.
Ms Turner sought bail but Magistrate Terry Duroux refused. Mokohar will return to court on November 8.
