Floyd Mayweather close to his prime and 'in the same shape as when he fought Miguel Cotto', says box
Floyd Mayweather’s coach believes the legendary boxer is training close to his prime right now.
The 45-year-old recently schooled Don Moore in an exhibition contest in Dubai without really getting out of first gear.
‘Money’ was more interested in showboating, commentating on his own fight and stealing the ring girl’s job - as well as dancing with her - rather than taking the fight seriously.
But he didn’t need to. He was levels above his former sparring partner in Moore, but Mayweather did confirm that he will be fighting once more this year and, again, it will take place in Dubai.
His coach Gerald Tucker has now released a clip of Mayweather training just before the Moore clash and remarked that the 50-0 legend is at the same levels as when he fought Miguel Cotto in 2012 - ten years ago.
"A clip from a few days before the fight.. @floydmayweather is getting closer and closer to the Floyd of his younger days.
“The workouts now remind me of around the time he faced Cotto. Can’t wait to see the announcement for the next bout coming up soon."

Thus far, Mayweather has been tight-lipped on who his next opponent will be, only revealing that the fight will take place in the UAE.
“It’s a secret, I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag right now," said the American.
"But we have an opponent and we had to choose a place and the place that I will choose is the UAE.”
Rumours have swirled that names like Amir Khan and Jake Paul are in the running to face the former five-weight world champion.
Khan told talkSPORT in a recent interview that Mayweather did tell him they should fight, but the Brit is only a few weeks into his retirement.
Jake’s brother Logan has already fought Mayweather to an eight-round draw - as is the case unless you stop your opponent in an exhibition because there are no winners - but Jake stealing Mayweather’s hat in the build-up generated more headlines than anything else.
Of course, Mayweather could just take on influencers and YouTubers. He was originally meant to face Money Kicks in Dubai and that fight could be revived.
Either way, Mayweather will make a whole lot of money in the middle east doing it. He was paid $1million just for attending the press conference for his fight with Moore.
