Maccas brings back fan favourite item for new winter menu

In especially good news for cheese lovers, McDonald’s will bring back a fan-favourite snack as part of its winter menu.

Diners will once again be able to get their mitts on the fast food giant’s beloved Mozzarella Sticks – which first appeared in 2019 – fried to “oozy perfection” and this time served alongside a Tomato Chilli Jam.

Also joining the menu – for a limited time only – is a new burger, the Spicy Sticky BBQ Angus, and the “perfect winter warming dessert”, a Raspberry and Custard Pie McFlurry.

If it’s too cold for ice cream, you can still treat yourself to the Raspberry and Custard Pie, another returning favourite, which features custard and raspberry sauce, encased in pastry.

“Whether you’re staying cosy at home or on the go, our new menu offers cravable flavour combinations for every Aussie winter moment,” McDonald’s Australia senior brand manager Liz Whitbread said.

“Featuring a new mouth-watering burger with our highly requested spicy sticky BBQ sauce, a delicious new McFlurry flavour and some returning fan favourites, we’ve created the perfect winter menu for our customers to enjoy in the chilly afternoons and evenings.”

On the Spicy Sticky BBQ Angus, customers will find the aforementioned sauce, as well as McChicken sauce, an Aussie Angus beef patty, Aussie Jack cheese, rasher bacon, tomatoes and lettuce atop a gourmet bun.

As for the new McFlurry, it’s exactly what it says on the tin – soft serve ice cream topped with crispy pastry pieces filled with a creamy custard and raspberry filling, topped with a drizzle of raspberry sauce.

Both new desserts will be available exclusively via Menulog from today, July 28.

From next Wednesday, July 5, they’ll be available in restaurants nationwide along with the rest of the winter menu, via the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery, for a limited time only.

The products can be enjoyed alongside existing seasonal burgers, the Classic Angus and BBQ Bacon Angus.
