Mo Wagner Brother Franz Wagner: Siblings Share An Unbreakable Bond

Mo Wagner brother, Franz Wanger, is a professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association, just like his brother.

Franz Wagner has followed in his older brother’s footsteps since childhood. With Mo as his guide and mentor, Franz embarked on his basketball journey, eventually finding his way to the Orlando Magic.

Victor Moritz Wagner, widely known as Mo, is a German professional basketball player who plays as a center and power forward for the Orlando Magic of the NBA. 

The Los Angeles Lakers drafted Wanger in the 2018 NBA draft as the 25th overall pick. Besides the NBA, he also represents the German National Team.

Prior to his venture into the United States basketball scene, Franz Wagner played for Alba Berlin. From 2015 through his junior season in 2017-18, he represented the Michigan Wolverines on the court. 

Mo Wagner Brother, Franz

Mo Wanger was born on April 26, 1997, to father Axel Schulz and mother Beate Wagner. He was raised with his younger brother, Franz Jacob Wagner.

Franz was born on August 27, 2001. He is currently playing as a small forward for the Orlando Magic in the NBA.

The Orlando Magic chose Franz in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft as the 8th overall pick.

The small forward was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in the 2021–22 season. Moreover, he also won the BBL Best Young Player Award in 2018.

Franz played for Germany’s young national teams, winning a gold medal at the Albert Schweitzer Tournament in 2018.

The Wagner brothers are currently on the same team, the Orlando Magic. The brothers joke together during warmups, and both of them are happy to be by each other’s sides.

Franz Wagner said, “It’s good to have someone you can deal with; you can just spend time with them and not always talk about basketball.”

The younger brother was just 4 years old when he started to follow Mo.

“He was around all the time, and we both started playing soccer. He started younger than I did with basketball just because he saw me,” Mo said.

The brothers appreciate and acknowledge each other. In a world full of busy schedules and far from home, they have each other to look after.

Jamahl Mosley, the coach, has also said that they understand each other. They laugh at and with each other as they have the same sense of humor.

The coach can also sense the immense love they have for each other.

The parents of Mo and Franz support and encourage the Wagner brothers. Their mother, Beate, is seen in most of their tournaments. 

Beate is a freelance medical journalist who watches games despite her schedule and time zone. In one of the games that happened in Michigan, she traveled all the way from Germany to New York.

Like Mo’s mother, his father, Axel, is also very supportive. Mo said, “When you write an article, you can be sure he’s the first one to read it.”

Axel has to wake up early for work. But he makes sure to check the box score as soon as he wakes up.
