Scene after Shayna Hubers shot boyfriend Ryan Poston in Kentucky pictured
Police in Kentucky have released grisly photos from inside the condominium of a 29-year-old attorney who was shot to death in 2012 by his jealous ex-girlfriend.
Shayna Hubers, 24, was convicted in April of murder in the killing of her on-again, off-again lover, Ryan Poston.
Hubers never denied shooting the young attorney six times inside his Highland Heights penthouse, but argued that she did it in self-defense because he turned violent and was attacking her.
The jury, however, sided with the prosecution, which claimed that the 24-year-old one-time college honor student killed Poston in a jealous rage.

In a new20/20 special, which airs Friday at 10pm Eastern Time on ABC, investigators shed light on Hubers' bizarre behavior after her arrest and present grisly crime scene photos showing the inside of Poston's cluttered two-bedroom bachelor pad on the night of his murder.
On October 12, 2012, a 911 dispatcher received a frantic call from Shayna Hubers reporting a deadly shooting.
'I'm standing about 10 feet from his dead body,' a hysterical HuberS told the operator.
When the woman on the other end of the line asked the caller to explain what happened, Hubers replied: 'Ma'am, I killed my boyfriend.'

ShareLt David Fornash Jr, of Highland Heights Police Department, was about a mile away from Ryan Poston's home when he got the call about the shooting.
When he entered the apartment, he noticed at once a man's body lying motionless beneath a blood-stained table in the dining area.
That gore-spattered piece of furniture would later be entered into evidence and shown to jurors during Shayna Huber's murder trial.
After sweeping the apartment to make sure there was no one else there, Lt Fornash drew his service weapon and pointed it at Ms Hubers, then aged 21, as another cop who responded to the scene handcuffed her.
Rocky relationship: Poston, 29, began dating Hubers, then 21, after breaking up with a long-time girlfriend, but soon he lost interest in his new paramour
New flame: On the night of the murder, Poston (left) was going to break up with Hubers. He already had planned a date with Miss Ohio 2012 Audrey Bolte (right)
Budding romance: Bolte, who also finished runner-up in Miss USA, would later tell prosecutors she was looking forward to seeing Poston at a bar to play pool and drink on October 12, 2012
During her initial interview with police, Hubers asked for an attorney and was read her Miranda rights, but then the murder suspect stunned detectives by making a series of shocking admissions without anyone asking her any questions.
‘He’s very vain. One of our last conversations we had that was good was that he wants to get a nose job,’ Hubers was recorded on tape telling police. ‘And I shot him right here. I gave him his nose job he wanted. I broke it.’
She detailed how the 29-year-old victim allegedly pushed her down against the arm of the couch and threw her against furniture in the moments before the first shot rang out.

'He said, “You're just a hillbilly from Kentucky.” And I am. I guess the hillbilly came out in me, and I took up for myself,’ she told police in the recording.
While sitting in the interrogation room, Hubers told officers she did not want to go to prison, but then she inquired about living conditions behind bars.
‘If you go to jail are you allowed to keep your phone? … Can you shower there? Or do you just get really dirty? … I have to shower in front of people? Oh s***,’ she said.
Chatty: Unprompted, Hubers made a series of stunning statements to police, including how she gave Poston the nose job he'd always wanted by shooting him in the face
Unprompted, the young woman then declared: ‘I don't know if anyone will ever want to marry me if they know that I killed a boyfriend in self-defense; not funny.’
When at one point police officers stepped out of the room, leaving Hubers alone, the woman said out loud, 'I killed him, I killed him,' all the while performing a peculiar dance routine in which she twirled around and snapped her fingers.
A two-year investigation into the murder and the subsequent trial exposed a tumultuous relationship between Hubers and Poston that was chronicled on social media and in text messages exchanged between friends.
Ryan Poston, a promising young lawyer with his own practice specializing in personal injury cases, started casually dating Hubers about a year before his death after breaking up with a long-time girlfriend.
But according to his friends, the 29-year-old soon lost interest and sought to end their fling.
Poston's friend Brain Stewart told 20/20 he felt obligated to let Hubers down easy and avoid hurting her feelings.
In a message to a friend, Shayna wrote: 'He says he is only with me [because] I make him feel so awful when I cry. My love has turned to hate.'
As their romance continued unraveling, Hubers and Poston, who was an avid gun enthusiast, decided to go to a shooting range together.
Justice: In April, Hubers, now 24, was found guilty of murdering the 29-year-old attorney
Tears of relief: Loved ones of Ryan Poston sob and embrace in reaction to Hubers' guilty verdict
A short time before the outing, Hubers sent her friend Christie Olyer an ominous text that read: 'When I go to the shooting range [with] ryan tonight I want to turn around and shoot and kill him and play like [it’s] an accident.'
On the eve of his violent death, Poston confided in his father that he was going to end things with Shayna and already had a date planned with Miss Ohio 2012 Audrey Bolte.
Bolte, who also finished runner-up in Miss USA, would later tell prosecutors she was looking forward to seeing Poston at a bar to play pool and drink on October 12, 2012, but he never made it.
Hubers is currently awaiting sentencing at the Campbell County Detention Center, where she has been since her arrest.
The 24-year-old convicted killer is expected to learn her fate June 15. She faces up to a life in prison.
