Search Continues For Missing Betty Hayes

Betty Hayes who went missing from her house in Monroe County one year ago is still unaccounted for.


In a news release on Friday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office stated that it is still searching for information regarding the whereabouts of 88-year-old Betty Hayes.

Hayes spoke with a relative on the phone on December 16, 2021, which was the last time anyone heard from her. She was reportedly at her residence at 17040 Route C in Holliday, Missouri, at the time.
The following afternoon, she was reported missing, and a thorough search was started.

Since Hayes vanished, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and numerous other organizations have been cooperating in a “intense” investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

Despite pursuing numerous leads, authorities have not yet located Hayes. The public is being enlisted to assist in obtaining the answers.

“Our office is still actively looking into Betty Hayes’ whereabouts in conjunction with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, “Joe Colston, the sheriff of Monroe County, said. “We won’t stop until we have solutions for the family and our neighborhood. Even though it sometimes takes longer than we would want to obtain answers from these inquiries, we are committed to doing so.
